I just love her!!! I didn't think I could LOVE someone so fast as I did when they first put her on my chest
LONGEST labor but totally worth it!
Meeting Dad for the first time
Well, Baby Emma decided to come 3 weeks early. Which I was kind of okay with but at the same time I was not ready to have her. :) I went in for my monthly ultrasound on Monday December 5th and my Dr came in and asked if I wanted the good or bad news first. Of course I said the bad news and she said I was having my baby tomorrow. I then asked what the good news was and she said I was having my baby tomorrow! lol We were all shocked and excited and nervous. I told my Dr I had a baby shower that night though so my Dr said I could go to that and then I had to be admitted to the hospital that night. So after my lovely work party (thanks Sara an Michelle) we headed to the hospital. They softened my cervix that night and by Wednesday I had her. :) I was going to throw in the towel at like 4 in the morning on Wednesday cause I was still only at a 3 and like 80% but my wonderful Dr came in around 6 and said I was finally at a 4 and 100% and that I could do this! She said if she wasn't here by noon then she would take her. Needless to say she came at 11:44 am :) It was the longest 38 hours of my life but she was totally worth it!!!!! I love her so much and can't believe Heavenly Father sent her to us. She is so perfect! I also have to thank my mom and sisters for also being there at the hospital with me. Go team Ashley!!! They were a great help and kept me insane during the long hours into the night. Emma did spend two days in the NICU because her body temp went down and then her oxygen went down a little to so she spent two days in the NICU and went home with us Friday night. I think she was just as spent as I was and was so tired and just needed to sleep and that is what she did when she was in the NICU. She did great in there and we were so excited and blessed she got to go home with us Friday when we went home. I don't think I would of handled it very well if I had to leave her there.
We were so blessed to have such great Dr.'s and nurses the whole time with us at the hospital. We loved ALL of them!
Her life here on earth has been eventful so far. :) She has experienced the NICU, her first Christmas, an MRI and lots of photo sessions. She just got an MRI done this past Tuesday to check out her brain and it was hard at first to hear the news from the Dr that it was abnormal. We already knew it was going to be abnormal cause of her Dandy Walker Variant but we also found out that she has some cyst on her brain as well. So far the Dr. said they are not anything we have to worry about right now unless she starts have seizures or something. But she is eating and growing like she needs to be right now. As long as she is hitting her milestones I believe we don't need to worry. I still feel like everything is going to be just fine and she is going to grow up healthy and strong just like every other baby. I mean look at her....you can't say she is not the cutest thing ever!!!! lol We are so blessed to have her in our family and can't wait to see her grow up. We love you Baby Emma!
